Sheena Bradshaw is a member of the THGC with an amazing talent, not just for singing but also for crocheting. She was featured on the Midlands Today news a fortnight ago for her octopusses that are taking the hospital baby wards by storm. Her array of brightly coloured octopusses take their prideful place next to premature babies to prevent them from pulling out their hospital tubes and gripping onto the octopuss’s tentacles instead. Sheena has now been asked by the NHS to galvanise and coordinate a crochetting crew of volunteers to create these comfort ensuring and life saving premie octopusses endearingly termed “octopals”. A number of 60 hospitals are supplied with thes octopals,
She even arranges that couples who have lost a baby also receive an octopus with wings and a poem. She puts her heart into this project because she knows what it is like for couples who have premature babies or lose a child at birth.
We are proud of her labour of love and equally proud that she is a member of the Town Hall Gospel Choir.
